About Us

Philosophy
At Wee Bairn we believe in specific fundamental goals that foster a good educational environment. These goals have been researched and studied over the years by educators and have been proven to be essential in enhancing the development of young children. They include;

Good Human Relationships: A warm and empathic understanding and genuine care about children and adults are essential in a successful program. This is developed through one-to-one relationships, small groups situations, making personal choices and where informal learning experiences can be enjoyed.
Parental Interaction: It is important that parents take an active role in their child’s education. Wee Bairn will provide opportunities for parent/teacher interviews and offers a standing invitation for parents to visit either formal or informally, (i.e., hands on participation, theme related guest speakers)
Balancing Self-Selected vs. Teacher Directed Activities: Self-selected activities create opportunities for children to develop independence and responsibility. Teacher directed activities feature specific learning goals that will enhance cognitive development in children.
Health & Safety
At Wee Bairn, the health and safety of all children and staff is of top concern. Staff members are strict about enforcing health regulations. Illness can spread rapidly within a childcare setting so universal precautionary measures are taken at all times. We encourage you to keep your child home if they are unwell.
